Someone will. Our senior and special-needs guests are housed in the suites beside our staff lounge, where they’re monitored overnight rather than left alone until morning. It’s the quietest part of the building and the closest to the people on duty.

Gizmo, our senior specialist
Gizmo is our Havanese and the unofficial mascot of Paws Up. He has a gift for older dogs — he settles them. We bring him out with our senior guests regularly, because a nervous older dog who won’t relax for a person will often relax next to a calm little dog. He grounds them.
We follow your dog’s lead
Some seniors want to be carried. So we carry them — and we get the snuggles out of the deal.
Others are still independent and a little insulted by the offer. Those dogs get to run and play until they’re good and tired.
We don’t have one senior program. We pay attention to the dog in front of us and give them the day they actually want.
Special needs, not special problems

Frequently asked questions
Is anyone with my dog overnight?
Yes. Paws Up is staffed overnight, and senior and special-needs guests are housed in the suites beside our staff lounge so they’re monitored through the night. If something changes, someone is there.
Can you give my dog medication?
Yes. We administer oral medications and eye or ear drops on your dog’s schedule, and we follow special and prescription diets. We do not give injections. Please bring everything in its original packaging with written instructions.
My dog can’t handle rough play anymore. Will they be safe?
Yes. We group by energy and personality, not just size. Low-energy and senior dogs are placed with calm companions, and they’re supervised closely. We also pull them out of play when they start getting tired — not when a clock says their session is over. That way they get to enjoy the playtime and then rest when they actually need it.
How much does senior boarding cost?
Senior and special-needs boarding is our standard rate of $55 per night — there’s no senior surcharge, and no extra charge for giving medications. Boarding includes a private suite, extra monitoring and snuggles, and 20% off each additional dog from the same family. We ask for a 30% deposit at booking, fully refundable if you cancel more than 48 hours ahead.
Do you take intact dogs?
Yes, intact males and females are welcome. Females in heat can board but don’t join group play — they receive one-on-one enrichment instead.
My dog is anxious about being away from me. Any advice?
Bring their own bed, or a comfort item that smells like home. Familiar bedding settles an anxious older dog faster than anything else we’ve tried.
Your senior deserves a calm place and someone who’s listening.
